It got its nickname as a result of being one of the world’s leading producers of spices including clove, nutmeg and cinnamon - and all since the 19th century.

A walking tour at a local spice farm allows you to smell and taste the different spices, learn how they are farmed and used, taste exotic fruits, followed by a delicious local lunch. You can also buy fresh spices, coffee, tea and soaps as souvenirs.
